How to install

Open the DMG.
Double-click
Thunder-Kitty.dmgin your Downloads folder. - Drag to Applications. Drag Thunder Kitty into your Applications folder.

Launch and grant permissions.
Open Thunder Kitty. You'll be asked to grant a handful of macOS
permissions — here's what each one is for:
- Microphone — to record you
- Speech Recognition — to transcribe on-device
- Screen Recording — to capture system audio from other apps (we don't record your screen)
- Calendar (optional) — to show today's meetings in the sidebar
- Notifications (optional) — to nudge you before meetings start
That's it. You're running Thunder Kitty entirely on your Mac.
Having trouble?
“Thunder Kitty can't be opened” or a Gatekeeper warning
Thunder Kitty is signed and notarized by Apple, so this shouldn't happen. If it does, right-click Thunder Kitty in your Applications folder and choose Open , then click Open again in the dialog. You only need to do this once. If the problem persists, email hello@thunderkitty.app .
No audio is being captured
Make sure you've granted Microphone and Screen Recording permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security . Quit and relaunch Thunder Kitty after granting access.
The app won't launch at all
Thunder Kitty requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later, on Apple Silicon. If you're on an earlier version of macOS, the app won't run on your machine.
